Manager, China Market Development (Austin, TX)
Job Description:Market development manager for industry-driving, high-tech global trade association. Responsible for market development, member acquisition and member support in China. Reports to Senior Director.
Duties:
- Membership acquisition and member support in China
- Strategic analysis of new member and market opportunities in China and Asia
- Reporting of member acquisition and retention
- Negotiate market development agreements and support regional marketing activities as needed to acquire new members
Experience:
7-10 years directly-related experience including work in:
- Sales/sales management and customer acquisition
- International technology markets (especially China and Asia) - telecoms preferred
- Marketing and sales communications (collateral, web, presentations, etc.)
- Market research
Skills/Behaviors:
- Results-oriented (success measured by member acquisition, member retention, member satisfaction, perceived membership value)
- Ability to assemble information from multiple sources and create strategic recommendations
- Leads by influence, proven team player – works well in cross functional teams

Senior Software Engineer
Responsibilities:The successful candidate will be a leading developer of embedded applications and tools for the deployment and ongoing evolution of a fully automated, open-source test platform for certifying Wi-Fi compliance of devices such as mobile phones, laptops, wireless infrastructure and other consumer applications. Given the nature of the organization and seniority of the position, the candidate will also be regularly asked to interact with member company representatives - providing training and collaborative support.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Expertise in C/C++ in Linux and/or Windows environments
- Strong experience in TCP/IP socket and thread programming
- Experience writing applications and device drivers for serial and bus architectures
- Knowledge of and conformance to common programming practice
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, small team environment
- Solid communication skills (written and oral)
- Professional presence for public group presentations
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs
- Appreciation of wide range of responsibility
- U.S. citizenship
Desirable skills:
- Script programming experience - VBscript, Python, .NET, C#
- Understanding of 802.11 or other wireless technology
- Understanding of general networking technologies (stacks, routing, switching, NAT, DSCP, QoS, ToS, etc)
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science required; Master's degree preferred
Location:
Santa Clara, California, USA (no relocation allowance)
