Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer (Santa Clara, CA)
Job Duties: Responsible for new program development and sustaining certification programs, including executing tests and providing test management and test reporting throughout the testing cycle. Duties Include:
- New program development, introduction and maintain test plans. Ensure test plans follow specifications, IEEE standards, best practices, MRDs, WFA policies, etc.
- Review and introduce new test cases.
- Participate in technical task groups for developing new program test plans.
- Responsible for assigned Plugfest and product qualification events for new programs.
- Maintain test bed equipment. Qualify software fixes. Replace obsolete hardware. Ensure interoperability between devices.
- Trains authorized test labs. Create training material and presentations. Review lab qualification data. Audit labs.
- Provide technical support to members. Reproduce issues and provide fixes.
- Review certification results. Provide feedback on certification system.
- Provide software support.
- Train Wi-Fi Alliance staff and contractors. Be an expert in several certification programs and share that knowledge with other staff members.
- Plan workload and schedules.
- Perform special projects as assigned
- Creating and perform presentations
- Creating documentation
- Develop and review automation scripts.
Position requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication or a related field, plus 5 years’ experience in a quality assurance or test related occupation.
Experience must include the following, which may be gained concurrently:
- 5 years’ platform experience on Linux operating systems
- 5 years’ experience supporting and verifying customer reported Wi-Fi related issues and bug fixes.
- 5 years’ experience developing Test Cases and Test Plans for Wi-Fi testing.
- 5 years’ experience using test tools: Jira, Omnipeek, Wireshark, & Ixia.
- 5 years’ experience working on IEEE Standards: 802.11.
- 5 years’ experience in scripting languages including Python, Perl, and TCL.
- 2 years’ experience conducting plug fest and handling various Wi-Fi programs.
- 2 years’ experience involving in development of automation test scripts for Wi-Fi certification and qualification.
(Salary: $164,050 to $185,000/year.)
