Wi-Fi Alliance® statement on NTIA’s 5 GHz report

Austin, Texas, January 29, 2013 – Wi-Fi Alliance® is pleased to see the progress shown by the NTIA report regarding the potential availability of up to 195 MHz of new spectrum in the 5 GHz band.  The additional spectrum will bring significant economic and social benefits by enabling continued innovation in Wi-Fi® technology.  We encourage U.S. government agencies to move quickly in this area, and to expedite the availability of the new spectrum such that unmet consumer and business needs can be satisfied.
