The report on the benifits of 802.11ac over 802.11n is miss a but leading. You could only really again the full potential of 802.11n on the 5Ghz spectrum, as the 2.4 Ghz has a limited number of none over lapping channels. This being 3 channels at 22Mhz and 1 channel at 44Mhz for 2.4MHZ, 16 Channels at 20Mhz and 8 channels at 40Mhz for 5Ghz. Therefore to have any chance of getting the full 150Mbps throughput without interfring with a neighboring network your needed to be on 5Ghz not 2.4Ghz. In reality the new 802.11ac standard will give a 4-5 fold increase in throughput over 802.11n, not the multi Gbps, due to channel bonding and useage.
