Wi-Fi Alliance® applauds first 6 GHz device authorization

Austin, Texas and Washington, D.C. – December 7, 2020 – Wi-Fi Alliance® applauds the Federal Communications Commission for authorizing the first Wi-Fi® device in the 6 GHz band. This milestone accomplishment, achieved in the face of many challenges during the global pandemic, required significant effort. It is a significant step in enabling the Wi-Fi industry to deliver the benefits of 6 GHz to all Americans when connectivity to work, learn, and communicate is needed most.
