6 GHz AFC Resources

Specifications, test plans, and training modules to enable implementation of the 6 GHz standard power devices under AFC system control

Wi-Fi Alliance® is leading the development of specifications, test plans, and training modules to enable implementation of the 6 GHz standard power devices under control of the Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) system. The AFC system approach maximizes spectrum availability for license-exempt devices, such as Wi-Fi, by dynamically determining channel availability at specified locations to avoid and protect licensed operations in the 6 GHz frequency band.

Specifications and test plans developed by Wi-Fi Alliance are organized in two packages and are available for download. The training modules to support the application of these packages are also available for viewing and downloading.

AFC System to AFC Device Interface (SDI) Specification
Version 1.5

Defines the architecture, protocols, and functionality for AFC System to AFC Device Interface such as Standard Power Access Points, proxies representing one or more non-standalone Standard Power Access Points and Fixed Client Devices

Wi-Fi Alliance AFC Specifications and Test Plans

AFC System (SUT) Compliance Test Vectors v1.2_Erratum

AFC System (SUT) Compliance Test Plan
Version 1.5

Describes the test methodology, equipment, and procedures that are recommended by Wi-Fi Alliance to ensure compliance of AFC System with requirements defined by regulatory authorities (e.g., U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC))

AFC System (SUT) Compliance Test Vectors
Version 1.2

Contains the AFC System Test Vector Requests and Test Vector Responses to complement the Wi-Fi Alliance AFC System (SUT) Compliance Test Plan (SUT Test Plan). These Test Vector Requests and Responses have been developed to validate compliance with regulatory requirements associated with Test Cases described in the AFC SUT Test Plan.

AFC System Reference Model
Version 1.0

Describes reference architecture model for an AFC System as related to permissible architecture options based on current regulatory rules

AFC System to AFC Device Interface (SDI) Specification
Version 1.5

Defines the architecture, protocols, and functionality for AFC System to AFC Device Interface such as Standard Power Access Points, proxies of Standard Power Access Points and Fixed Client Devices

Wi-Fi Alliance AFC Specifications and Test Plans

AFC Device (DUT) Compliance Test Plan
Version 1.6

Defines test procedures to establish compliance with regulatory requirements, such as those established by the FCC, ISED, or other regulatory bodies for Standalone APs, Fixed Client Devices and Proxy components representing one or more non-standalone APs

AFC Device (DUT) Compliance Test Vectors
Version 1.2

Contains the AFC DUT Test Vector Requests and Test Vector Responses to complement the Wi-Fi Alliance AFC Device (DUT) Compliance Test Plan. These test vectors have been developed to validate compliance of AFC DUT to regulatory requirements associated with Test Cases described in the AFC DUT Test Plan.

AFC DUT Test Harness
Version 2.0.65.162

AFC DUT Test Harness is a software platform developed by Wi-Fi Alliance to interact with a 6 GHz standard power device using interfaces defined in the AFC System to AFC Device Interface Specification. The AFC DUT Test Harness simulates behavior of an AFC system and is used to automate procedures described in the AFC DUT Compliance Test Plan for 6 GHz standard power devices for compliance with regulatory requirements established by regulatory authorities (e.g., U.S. FCC, Canada ISED).
